I spent ages trying to launch a new business. Separate from my consultancy work. As I am super visual, I really fixated on getting the right logo, thinking this would trigger and inspire me, and potential customers wouldn’t be drawn to me if I didn’t have the right image.
It was a new industry for me and I fully admit to feeling overwhelmed trying to have the perfect launch. So I allowed myself to hide in detailed to-do lists, and covered my lounge floor in post-it notes to create a timeline.
What I needed to do was just start. Somewhere. Anywhere. It physically hurt me, but sometimes you just have to adopt the JFDI* approach. So I looked at the mini-humans, who were hovering at the sight of fun colourful post-it notes on the floor, and I asked them for their help and advice. They were delighted at being included in something grown-up and their insight was remarkable. They offered other perspectives I had just not considered. Pure. Innocent. JFDI approaches. They didn’t want to wait for perfect, they were just eager to get started with me. They were happy with Just Good Enough. And the joy in their JFDI mindset was infectious. Super grateful to the mini-humans.
This was being an Aristo-Chic working SuperMum at its best. Doing the job I love, being a role model for my children, empowering them and taking them along the journey with me.
