How to be a fantabulous Aristo-Chic working SuperMum…effortlessly

Okay, so I am NOT talking about having it all and hiring a million nannies for your gorgeous mini humans. I am talking about doing a job you love and still being able to do the school drop-off and pick up. I know this is possible, because I do this. [Everything works better if you adopt the Just Good Enough mindset.]

So there are two ways to do this. Either:

  • Set up your own business, so you are in charge of your schedule and can be super flexible about children’s logistics – whilst also fulfilling your entrepreneurial master vision. More on setting up your own business the Aristo-Chic way here on this site.  I chose this route and it’s worked for me.

OR

  • You get a job that caters for non-traditional working hours. This is easier than it sounds ESPECIALLY since the pandemic. So, if it’s a possibility you can work from home. Awesome. If not, and you are in a job that requires you to be present on a shift then, evaluate if this is truly the role for you whilst you have the children for the early years. If yes, then arrange to car pool, child pick up pool. You will need to rely on your network for this. Don’t have a network? I understand this, I didn’t either when I moved to London, I didn’t have grandparents close by to help out. Get friendly with the mums at the school and arrange to do after school play dates. Or see if the school has an after school club.

TOP TIP: Full disclosure, I have zero guilty treats. I don’t drink, smoke or have an expensive shopping habit. During the school holidays my home looks like it has been burgled on a daily basis (!), so I use my money so I can have a cleaner once a week – life changing ! What one small change can you make in your life to make it a little easier ?

Make one small change to make your life as a working mum effortlessly chic ! Xx
