Feeling overwhelmed? How to tackle it the Aristo-Chic way

Ever come home and thought there is TOO much going on ?? The afterschool clubs for children, the homework, the messy kitchen, the ever increasing laundry pile, the papers you forgot to fill in and send off, one of the darling mini-humans just told you her friend had overheard someone else say that someone in another year had nits (FFS) so now you ALL have to zap your hair that night, you’ve got an online meeting with a client at 5pm….and the never ending quest of what on earth are you going to feed them for dinner ??? [Is there a moral law against over feeding your children fish fingers and pasta ???]. And finally, the project you need to devote attention to, but it just has too many moving parts.

Ok, so if you do ever feel like there is just TOO MUCH going on, here’s the Aristo-Chic way to fix it fabulously !

  1. Go military. Tell yourself: I don’t do overwhelm. Write it down. It dilutes its power.

  2. BREAK IT DOWN. I work on projects for a living and we set timelines and key milestones. Always have sight of the bigger picture, but break down a complex task of variable moving parts into easy step by step actions – this utterly calms down the feeling of overwhelm.

  3. Prioritise what absolutely has to be done today.

  4. Write a tick box list. Soooooooooo satisfying ticking it off when it’s done !

  5. Ask for help. Outsource to those around you (husband/partner if they are around, even the mini humans like helping out and being involved). Reach out to your trusted professional network for advice or a steer on the project.

  6. Execute the actions.

  7. Regroup and thank everyone for their support.

  8. Have a G&T.

You’ve got this, you’re an awesome Aristo-Chic SuperMum. Xx
