New Chapters

At the end of every assignment, I start to get excited for what’s around the corner. The one I have just completed was a politically controversial one, where we, as a team, were all really invested in working together collaboratively, such was the intensity of the environment and the subject matter. The wind-down period is a little sad, but professionally it was so extraordinarily satisfying as we each operated at our best.

I LOVE that my daughters see this version of me. I LOVE that they see that their mummy LOVES both her job and them. I have space to be a working mummy and a present mother. Do I do it alone ? No. Raising a child takes a village as they say. The Frenchman helps enormously, the mini-humans help (!), and often the client helps too by ensuring a flexible working environment so I can deliver AND be there for drop off / pick up.  The latter comes from setting specific boundaries early on – see my Just Good Enough podcast: episode – Balmy in Brazil on how one working supermum also navigates this.

New chapters are exhilarating. You never know what will come. I do gently nudge the outcome by following my regular routine of the new assignment search routine. Interestingly, my new assignment search coincides with a change in govt, which some people are taking to mean that consultants will be flooding the market. This is where the positive abundant mindset is awesome and an essential item in the Working SuperMum’s Make S***t Happen Playbook – I am a firm believer that the right match is out there for everyone, and I know the right next assignment is moving towards me at pace to connect. In this spirit I remain open and curious to all the opportunities out there – I am excited for what happens next !!!
I hope whatever new chapters you are facing, you are open and curious to all possibilities – who knows what’s waiting for you ?! Xx
